Many say, "I am Asatru." So few understand what this means.
To be Asatru means to become immersed in Germanic history and mythology so that your entire subjective universe is filled with the images of this might and beauty. To be Asatru you must know that there is nothing more vast, more enlivening or more enriching than Germanic thoughts, words and deeds. In this spiritual womb perhaps you may become Asatru.

Man! What are you?
Why are you here? Why do you exist?
Let speak the true seid woman:
"Because my intent determines the course of Ginnunga-gap.
There is no Nornic activity - no Urd, Verdandi or Skuld - if it were not for Seidhr,
which is Wyrd Consciousness .. free and unfettered will."

It is a characteristic of a true seid worker that she tends the roots about the ancient well, that sea of understanding, so those initiates who find their way there, may learn of the work at hand.

No true seid worker dallies in the past or future while sitting atop a high-seat. She knows there is only one vision that must be clear, the present, for where no god or ordinary man has control over the following moment, the true seid worker can and does.

"Is the pagan cult not a form of thanksgiving and affirmation of life? Must its highest representative not be an apology for and deification of life? The type of a well constituted and ecstatically overflowing spirit!...Dionysus versus the Crucified: there you have the antithesis."
-Friedrich Nietzsche

Anyone in this world who does not succeed in being hated by his adversaries does not seem to me to be worth much as a friend. And thus the friendship of these people for our young movement was not only worthless, but solely and always harmful, and it was also the main reason why, first of all, we chose the name of 'party' - we had grounds for hoping that by this alone a whole swarm of these folkish sleepwalkers would be frightened away from us - and why in the second place we termed ourselves National Socialist German Worker's Party.

The first expression kept away the antiquity enthusiasts, the big-mouths and superficial proverb-makers of the so-called 'folkish idea', and the second freed us from the entire host of knights of the 'spiritual sword', all the poor wretches who wield the 'spiritual weapon' as a protecting shield to hide their actual cowardice."
-Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, page 363
